Webster Technique

Manhattan Wellness Group uses a form of The Webster Technique, which is utilized in aiding in the prevention or correction of a breech birth. Chiropractic care during pregnancy is greatly beneficial to the mother to be.  Chiropractic care can help with nausea, reducing time for labor and delivery, relieving neck, joint and back pain, and prevention of C-Section.  “The Webster technique is a specific Chiropractic analysis and adjustments that reduces interference to the nerve system and balances maternal pelvic muscles and ligaments. This in turn reduces torsion in the uterus, a cause of intra-uterine constraint of the baby and allows for optimal fetal positioning in preparation for birth” as defined by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (CPA) certification program. The technique uses a combination of gentle adjusting to balance the SI joints and gentle ligamentous trigger point work to reduce the tension, reduce the torsion and constraint in the uterus and allow for more room for the baby to move and better position itself.  A breech baby can promptly go from a 70% chance of adjusting within in the seventh month of pregnancy to a 40% chance within the eighth month due to the continuous growth of the baby and the limitation of space to allow for the turn to occur.   So it is important to see a chiropractor early on during pregnancy.
